This module comprises lectures and seminars that include exercises and student contributions. On the basis of theories of international relations and sustainable development, the module focuses on international relations and sustainable development in the Arctic in a period of history when global players such as nation-states, supranational entities and multinational companies are increasingly interested in Arctic conditions and are investing resources in the region.

An internal examination in: The Arctic in the Age of Globalization.
The examination is completed by:
• a short presentation on the topic chosen by the examiner from the individual reflection portfolio submitted in advance of the exam. The presentation can be done in a manner of the student’s own choice (e.g. oral, poster-, video- or slides-based) • a discussion with the examiners on the basis of the student’s presentation. Duration of examination: 30 minutes per student, including max. 10 minutes for the student’s presentation. |
