  • In-depth understanding of best practices relevant to climate adaptation planning.
  • Acquaintance with relevant and state-of-the-art data sources related to climate actions (mitigation/adaptation) such as satellite data, climate impact data, and socioeconomic & geographical data required for data-informed decision-making at spatiotemporal scales adequate to building long-term resilience.
  • Being knowledgeable about the state-of-the-art nature-based solutions relevant to different climate risks.

Skills

  • Acquiring the most relevant data and tools for climate adaptation planning.
  • Using the right open-source tools for the processing, integration, and synthesizing of such data for making data-informed decision-making in a stakeholder setting.
  • Prescribing the most relevant and state-of-the-art climate adaptation solutions with a particular focus on nature-based solutions.
  • Working in cross-disciplinary setting to understand the trade-off and synergy between the actions of each different sectors and stakeholders in their climate actions.

Competences

  • Ability to acquire, synthesise, and visualise climate change related data.
  • Ability to produce and interpret risk assessment data for different climate impacts as well as exploring climate-borne opportunities.
  • Ability to develop and propose adaptation pathways for a given region under certain climate risks and employ the most suitable data for data-driven decision making.
  • Ability to propose suitable robust and nature-based solutions for climate risks while looking at compound and cascading climate impacts.
