Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Define problem-based learning (PBL) based on learning theory and relate to own experiences.
  • Identify different types of problems and projects and relate them to own practice.
  • Describe knowledge production in problem-based project work and relate it to philosophy of science.
  • Explain how digital and analogue technologies support learning and collaboration.

Skills

  • Plan and manage problem-based project work.
  • Analyse and evaluate own study practices, including the use of digital and analogue technologies to enhance individual and collaborative learning processes.
  • Identify, analyse, formulate and assess the relevance of complex problems from a systems perspective.
  • Critically evaluate problem solving using technology assessment with particular focus on sustainability and ethical considerations.

Competences

  • Develop study practices adapted to a problem-based and project-organised learning environment.
  • Evaluate and critically assess scientific practices regarding problem analysis and solution.
  • Evaluate, create and adapt theories, methods and technologies (digital/analogue) to ensure the best possible application in learning situations and collaborative processes.
  • Assess own progression in understanding and applying PBL principles based on own experiences and learning theory.
  • Critically reflect on the role and impact (short- and long-term) of digital technologies in your own learning and collaboration processes.
