Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Can account for current knowledge at the highest international level in at least one of the following biomedical engineering and informatics research areas:
    • Signal processing
    • Image analysis
    • Pattern recognition
    • Decision support
    • Clinical information systems
    • Sensory systems
    • Rehabilitation systems
    • Physiological modelling

Skills

  • Can identify, document and process scientific problems within the field of biomedical engineering and informatics
  • Can give a detailed analysis of a scientifically relevant problem based on systematic literature search
  • Can argue for the choice of method for answering the problem statement of the project based on knowledge within a specific research area
  • Masters scientific methods and techniques in biomedical engineering and informatics
  • Can be constructively critical towards the results of the applied methods with respect to the problem statement of the project

Competences

  • Can critically evaluate and prepare an activity plan and schedule for the project work
  • Can independently apply biomedical engineering and informatics expertise based on a scientifically relevant problem within a specific research area
  • Can propose new models for analysis and/or solution of knowledge problems based on a scientific foundation
  • Can communicate about complex biomedical engineering and informatics as well as scientific issues with heterogeneous target groups
  • Can identify your own learning requirements in connection with biomedical engineering and informatics issues and solutions
  • Can critically reflect on your own learning process in relation to scientific work and on this basis take responsibility for your own development and learning
