Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Can explain relevant motor and sensory anatomy and pathophysiology
  • Can account for technologies and methods for rehabilitation and support, e.g. robotics, functional electrical stimulation, biofeedback, virtual reality, augmented reality, tele-rehabilitation technologies and sensory rehabilitation technologies

Skills

  • Can apply knowledge about the effects of disability to identify relevant rehabilitation technologies
  • Can critically assess rehabilitation technologies based on descriptions in scientific literature
  • Can evaluate potentials in (new) technologies in relation to their relevance as rehabilitation or assistive devices
  • Can assess communication between patient and technology in context, including brain-, tongue- and eye-computer interfaces
  • Can guide health professionals regarding opportunities in rehabilitation and in relation to assistive devices
