Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Can explain how physiological subsystems can be represented mathematically by using bio-electrical, chemical and mechanical models
  • Can explain examples of bio-electrical, chemical and mechanical models in relation to physiological subsystems and therapeutic interventions
  • Can explain different methods for physiological modelling, including compartment and finite element models as well as their possibilities and limitations

Skills

  • Can recognize and estimate parameters in physiological models
  • Can implement, identify and validate physiological models
  • Can identify physiological models using numerical methods
  • Can identify physiological models using statistical methods
  • Can recognize and discuss the complexity of a physiological model

Competences

  • Can evaluate the quality of a physiological model
