Knowledge
- Knowledge of technical and economic energy system analysis on a
regional, national and international level, with emphasis on the
integration of renewable energy, low-carbon technologies and energy
efficiency
- Knowledge of various types of energy system analysis approaches
and their application
- Knowledge of the interplay between different energy sectors and
the strategies to achieve carbon neutral societies
- Knowledge of spatial analysis for energy planning, including
resource, demand and infrastructure mapping
Skills
- Can analyse and assess consequences of the integration of
large-scale renewable energy and various low-carbon energy
technologies
- Can analyse and assess energy systems based on various
evaluation criteria, including technical, economic, and
environmental aspects
- Can use different spatial analysis methods to quantify, map and
analyse energy resources, demands and infrastructures
- Can understand and analyse energy transition pathways to carbon
neutral societies
Competences
- Can design and develop various energy scenarios based on energy
system analysis and spatial analysis
- Can prepare proposals for national or regional energy system
planning from technical perspectives and is able to link it with
the relevant energy policy and governance contexts
- Can independently start and participate in interdisciplinary
tasks and cooperation on an organisation level
