Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

This course consists of frameworks and models for project management and entrepreneurship to deepen students’ theoretical and practical knowledge in project-oriented work. The core is in ethical, responsible, and sustainable ecosystems of culture and economy and the uses of arts-based and pedagogical methods in entrepreneurial practice. The course bridges hard and soft competences in project management and supports interventions for change.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

Through the module, the student must gain knowledge and understanding of:

  • Different types of business models and practices in the fields of art, education, and digital visual communication
  • Ethical, responsible, and sustainable ecosystems in the fields of art, education, and digital visual communication

Skills

The student must through the module acquire skills in:

  • Using art-based, creative, and participatory methods to initiate and critically evaluate business ideas
  • Managing and developing professional projects
  • Applying their knowledge from art education and digital visual communication in entrepreneurial practice

Competences

The student must through the module acquire competences for:

  • Turning their ideas into manageable projects and business models
  • Working as a project initiator and manager in transdisciplinary settings
  • Developing economically and ethically sustainable business practices for art education and digital visual communication

Oral exam based on a project
Oral exam based on a synopsis group assignment.
The examination is a conversation between the student(s) and the examiner and internal examiner based on a synopsis produced individually or in a group. The written work will be considered the shared responsibility of the group. Students will be examined and assessed on the basis of the synopsis, and one combined grade will be awarded each student for the synopsis and the oral performance.
