Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

This project module aims at:

  • Providing students the opportunity to combine their knowledge from previous courses and projects with the need for teaching and training at different levels.
  • Providing students the opportunity to improve their skills when it comes to communication, teaching and training.
  • Enabling students to identify what competence development is needed to improve the security posture of an organization, and design relevant teaching/training activities.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Must have deep knowledge of security concepts, both from the defender's and the attacker's perspectives.
  • Must have knowledge on problems within cyber security, that individuals, companies, organizations, public institutions, and nations can encounter
  • Must have knowledge about the relation between security risks, business processes and knowledge in an organization.
  • Must have knowledge on relevant frameworks for cyber security skills and competences.
  • Must have knowledge on active learning methodologies and/or other relevant approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Must be able to combine the knowledge of the previous semester's projects and courses.

Skills

Must have skills in:

  • defining relevant learning objectives to match the need for improving cyber security related skills in an organization or association, depending on their challenges with respect to cyber security.
  • designing content and format of a training program for one or more specific target groups.
  • creating relevant cases, including replicating one or more vulnerabilities in a way that can be used for training relevant skills – for example in a Capture The Flag or Attack-Defense setting.
  • defining relevant cases for teaching/training a specific target group.

Competences

Must have competences in:

  • how existing or newly acquired knowledge can be assessed and evaluated, for example in order to determine the current skill level among employees and identify relevant training initiatives.
  • identifying cyber security needs in an organization, and the role of competence development to meet these needs.
  • communicating cyber security challenges and solutions to different target groups, including both technical and non-technical groups, and to experts as well as non-experts.
