Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

Disclaimer.

The course must give the student insight into how design theory and methods are used to solve problems within interaction design in an organizational practice that involves several different disciplines. The student is also introduced to the framework and conditions of a workplace that develops interactive digital technologies. The course must have a scope corresponding to the relevant ECTS load. 

The agreement must be approved by the company and an AAU supervisor.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

Must have knowledge of:

  • Interaction design in an organizational context.
  • Design practices that can accommodate a company’s organization, processes, and strategy.
  • The roles and value creation of interaction designers in an organization

Skills

  • Must be able to enter into an internship agreement with learning objectives corresponding to the relevant semester of the program.
  • Must demonstrate the application of analytical and methodological skills in solving interaction design problems in an organizational practice.
  • Must be able to justify the choice of analytical and methodological approaches in organizational practice based on relevant theory from the interaction design program.
  • Must be able to contribute to supporting the company’s objectives in a professional manner both as an individual and in teams in accordance with the company’s project management model.
  • Must be able to collaborate and communicate with colleagues, superiors, and other stakeholders.
  • Must be able to document, evaluate, and discuss the process and acquired experiences in a report

Competences

  • Must be able to discuss and reflect on the learning outcomes of the internship.
  • Must be able to discuss the need for knowledge exchange between interaction designers and other professional disciplines in organizational practice.
  • Must be able to discuss the need for knowledge exchange between academia and industry.

The student is expected to spend 30 hours per ECTS, which for this activity means 750 hours.

  • Approved PBL competence profile is a prerequisite for participation in the project exam.
