PURPOSE
The purpose of the project module is to introduce the students to collaboration with users in an interaction design process, where the focus is on the involvement of future users early in the process based on needs in a mobile use context. Decisive emphasis is placed on empirical assessments of the product design, where the focus is on an iterative design process. Furthermore, the aim is for the process to be translated into an interactive mobile prototype. In the project, emphasis is placed on working with both qualitative and quantitative methods in the collaboration with the users, and the developed interactive product must be able to be anchored in the empirical work with the users. The subject of the project can be diverse, but the aim should be that the users and the context of use are accessible to the project.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • must be able to demonstrate knowledge of collaboration with users in all key phases of an interaction design process (cf. Co-Design traditions), including early focus on users, needs, in a mobile context, empirical assessment and iterative design

Skills

  • must be able to organize and implement a co-design process, including establishing a collaboration with specific users on a specific problem, and preparation of an interactive mobile prototype through iterative design and assessment
  • must be able to justify the design of the prepared interaction design in specific empirical needs in relation to a mobile context

Competences

  • must be able to prepare an interaction design that is firmly rooted in the needs of users in a mobile context, and be able to reflect on a Co-Design process
