Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

PURPOSE
To sharpen the methodological awareness and reflection around the importance of choosing a method in design processes. The purpose is to enable the student to be able, in an interdisciplinary and interdisciplinary practical context, to present clear arguments for the choice of method based on the assessment of opt-outs.

The module's focus on methodology is integrated horizontally in the semester, so that it supports the practical technological and business design processes in the other modules.

The module is organized with seminars and workshops, where the student's professional portfolio is a prerequisite for participation.

In connection with the module, the following methodological themes will be addressed:

  • video as data
  • video observation
  • the importance of roles for observation with video
  • fixing roles in social and scientific contexts
  • flow and ritual in interpersonal interaction
  • video as a tool for sketching and animation
  • 360 degree 3D VR video recording with a drone

  • plan and conduct sessions using video for documentation and facilitation

  • include video as a method for documentation, facilitation and evaluation of design processes
  • to be able to critically and constructively assess the importance of video as a method for documentation and design

Type of instruction

The type of instruction is organised in accordance with the general instruction methods of the programme, cf. ยง 17.

Extent and expected workload

The student is expected to spend 30 hours per ECTS, which for this activity means 300 hours.
