Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

The purpose of the macro/microeconomic project is to provide students with the opportunity to analyze a specific socio-economic issue of their choice, based on the macroeconomic theoretical understanding acquired in the modules Macroeconomics III & IV or the microeconomic theoretical understanding acquired in the modules Microeconomics II & III.

Project work on a socio-economic issue is related to the Danish economy and grounded in macro- or microeconomic theory and relevant empirical data.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

The aim is that after the module the student has knowledge of:

• how to identify, formulate, and delimit a socio-economic issue in a macro- or microeconomic context.
• how to define and reflect on the method used in the project.

Skills

The aim is that after the module the student has skills in:

• being able to conduct an analysis of the project's issue based on relevant economic literature and data material.
• finding, compiling/processing, and presenting relevant data series for significant macro- and microeconomic variables.
• evaluating the results of the project work and discussing possible implications thereof.

Competences

The aim is that after the module the student has the competencies to:

• to prepare a written presentation of the project's problem statement, method, analysis, and conclusions in a scientifically clear and correct language.
