The module is based on knowledge achieved when studying the 3rd semester on the Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Engineering or similar.
Problem based project organised work in groups. The students focus on proficient project leadership and management when finding their technical solution. The project can be made in cooperation with external partners and the project can be a disciplinary project, a cross- disciplinary project or part of a multi-disciplinary project, where several groups from one or more departments work with different parts of a larger project.
The subject matter will remain in the area of either offshore energy systems or fluid & process systems. The project may be of theoretical or experimental nature and will often be in collaboration with an industrial company or other research institution performing research in the area of offshore energy systems.
The project work is documented in a project report with maximum extent according to §19.
A Conference for Esbjerg Students (CES) is arranged by the Department of Energy. The student conference is arranged in a manner which reflects an international scientific conference. Participation is not mandatory, but the students are encouraged to participate with an oral presentation of their findings. To participate, the project group must submit a preliminary abstract of the project work prior to the conference. Abstracts are collected in a conference proceeding made available to all participants.
The project group are also encouraged to produce a poster of their project work for the CES conference. The Department of Energy will facilitate printing and display of the poster on campus grounds. The students can choose if they do not want the results of their project work displayed.
Since it is a 30 ECTS project module, the workload is expected to be 900 hours for the student
