Recommended prerequisite for participation in the module

The module is based on knowledge obtained during the internship of the Bachelor of Engineering Study Programme in Sustainable Energy Engineering or similar.

Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Have development-based knowledge about and understanding of the practice and applied theories of the profession and the field of work, and must have applied the theories and methods of sustainable energy engineering

Skills

  • Be able to apply the methods and tools of the field in question, and to master the skills related to employment within the profession
  • Be able to evaluate theoretical and practical issues and substantiate and choose appropriate solution models
  • Bbe able to disseminate practice-related scientific issues and potential solutions to business partners and users

Competences

  • Be able, on an individual base, to formulate a problem, conduct, document and present a project including a complex and development oriented task within key areas of the chosen specialisation field
  • Bbe able to transfer academic knowledge and skills to relevant problem processing in practice and solutions at Bachelor of Engineering level
  • Be able to set up robust time and work plans for their own projects
  • Must independently and with professional approach be able to engage in a dialogue with partners within the chosen specialisation and professional stakeholders
  • Be able to identify their own learning needs and develop their own knowledge, skills and competencies in relation to their profession

Type of instruction

Problem-based and project-oriented work. The module should give the students the opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, skills and competences at professional bachelor level within the chosen specialisation field. The students formulate the problem they wish to address; but the problem formulation must be approved by the supervisor. The subject of the Bachelor of Engineering project must normally originate in one of the subject areas of the internship, so as to include the student's experience from this. The project can be carried out in or in collaboration with a company. The project may be of a theoretical and/or experimental nature.

Extent and expected workload

Since the project is a 15 ECTS module, the work load is expected to be 450 hours for the student.
