Project work including supervision, possibly supported by lectures, workshops, seminars, consultant meetings regarding PBL content, laboratory experiments, etc. The project may be discipline-oriented, interdisciplinary or part of a multidisciplinary project depending on project choice.
The project work is divided into two periods: P0 for problem formulation and P1 for problem solving. The P0 period lasts 5-6 weeks. The work in P0 includes a problem analysis and a problem formulation for the topic to be dealt with in the P1 part of the project. This must be written in a P0 document, which also contains a process analysis for the P0 period. The P0 document is presented at a status seminar as a part of the course in Problem Based Learning, where the project group documents (report and process analysis) are discussed.
Based on the problem analysis and problem formulation, students complete the P1 part of the project . The project work is documented in a P1 project report containing problem analysis, problem formulation, problem solution, analyses and results, as well as discussion and conclusion.
Since it is a 15 ECTS project module, the work load is expected to be 450 hours for the student.
