The module comprises a course in sustainable development, mobilities, transnationalism and communities.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • theories and concepts in the area of sustainable development in tourism, transnational mobilities and communities. 
  • contemporary challenges related to sustainable development in tourism, transnational mobilities and communities.
  • communities, institutions and actors involved in sustainable development in tourism and transnational mobilities.

Skills

  • identifying and critically discussing debates within sustainable development in tourism and transnational mobilities and communities
  • selecting and applying relevant conceptual and methodological tools for the analysis of sustainable development in tourism and transnational mobilities communities

An internal written examination in: Sustainable Development in Tourism, Transnational Mobilities and Communities (Bæredygtig turismeudvikling, transnational mobilitet og fællesskaber).

The examination is a 4-day take-home assignment given by the examiner on the basis of the curriculum of the module. The assignment paper must be prepared individually and must not exceed 8 pages.
