Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

In this module, students will select and work on a selected international business problem and write a project report. Students should gain competencies and skills in problem formulation, identification of relevant literature, and application of adequate quantitative and/or qualitative methods to solve an international business problems.

The project is emphasising the empirical investigation, including the selection and application of relevant research designs and methods. The goal is to enable the student to plan and carry out a problem-based project, independently and in collaboration with others.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary knowledge on:

  • relevant problems related to international business.
  • central theories, concepts, and practical issues within the selected research topic.
  • scientific methods applied in international business research.

Skills

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary skills in:

  • designing research projects, identifying the most appropriate research design and methods to fit the research question, and justifying the methodological choices.
  • applying relevant methods to provide answers to the formulated research question(s).
  • planning and completing research projects on a selected international business problem, from idea generation to implementation.

Competences

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary competences in:

  • outlining suggested solutions to an international business problem based on a scientific analysis.
  • reflecting on how the selected methodology influences the analysis and conclusions.
  • planning and completing a research project in which a key international business problem is addressed from idea generation to implementation.
