Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

The objective of the module is that the student, through association with the research group, prepares a research article based on a specific international business topic. This article may be based on empirical data collected during the company internship or other data sources. The chosen topic must be discussed and accepted by a supervisor.

During the module the student will – with the support of an advisor – be able to apply relevant scientific theories, models, and methods on empirical and/or theoretical within a specific subject area. Furthermore, be able to analyse, discuss and present central findings to a scientific community.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary knowledge on:

  • the planning, execution and management of research processes leading to a research article.
  • key methodological approaches to explore the chosen topic theoretically and practically.
  • main theoretical aspects of the chosen topic.

Skills

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary skills in:

  • selecting and using relevant methods and tools to generate knowledge and to analyse a central issue within the chosen topic.
  • carrying out a relevant and systematic scientific analysis to support arguments and conclusions made.
  • applying relevant scientific theories and methods to address the investigated scientific problem.

Competences

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary competences in:

  • conducting an academic collaboration process in structuring and writing a research article.
  • applying relevant knowledge and skills in international business to be able to analyse, conceptualise and discuss the issues addressed in the article.
