Through a series of activities, the module prepares the student for the application of scientifically based research methods for use in the preparation of projects on a topic of their choice in the core areas of financial management.
Thus, the paradigms of the philosophy of science are taken as a starting point and the student becomes familiar with argumentation theory and what it means to theorise, as well as at what levels theory can arise. The student is introduced to a range of qualitative and quantitative research methods in business economics in general and financial management specifically.
