Through the project module, the student gains insight into the development and programming of an interactive product for new, emerging digital technologies. A solution must be programmed to address an identified and described problem. We work with the design aspects of a concept and program interaction for the digital platform. The programmed product must be demonstrable and should be evaluated.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of new, emerging technologies and interaction with such technologies

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of how interaction design can contribute to the solution of a problem where these new technologies are included as part of the solution.

Skills

  • Must be able to analyze and evaluate an interactive design for new, emerging technologies solution

  • Must be able to program a specific interactive design in a selected programming language

  • Must be able to demonstrate and document a coherent design concept through a working prototype

Competences

  • Be able to argue for the technology's properties and possibilities in relation to the developed interactive product

  • Be able to assess the technology's potential future posibilities in an application and interaction context

Type of instruction

Design study-based project work.

Extent and expected workload

The student is expected to spend 30 hours per ECTS, which for this activity means 450 hours.

Exam

Prerequisite for enrollment for the exam

  • An approved PBL competency profile is a prerequisite for participation in the project exam
