Learning objectives

Knowledge

The student must attain

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • cultural, social and political problems in the field of gender and equality
  • knowledge of theories on gender, masculinity and intersectionality
  • knowledge about how gender theories can be used in analyses of inequalities within international studies.

Skills

The student must attain

Skills in:

  • analyzing international cultural, social and political problems from a gender perspective
  • analyzing central problems in debates and controversies about gender and diversity.

 

Competences

The student must attain

Competencies in:

  • describing, reflecting and arguing on the basis of scientific knowledge about the gendered implications of cultural, social and political issues in international society
  • communicating the practical and theoretical dimensions of debates and controversies surrounding gender and inequalities.

The examination is an individual exam portfolio; the content of the portfolio must demonstrate that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives and has participated actively in course activities. The requirements for the contents of the portfolio will be determined by the course instructor at the start of the semester.

The assignment paper will be evaluated by the examiner.

Any re-examinations will be held in held in accordance with the above guidelines on the basis of a revised exam portfolio.
