Learning objectives


The student must attain

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • the basic disciplines within the international studies field
  • major problems addressed by the international studies field
  • methodological and theoretical approaches to basic concepts within the international studies field
  • problems central to the life of international society, international institutions, and major international actors.


The student must attain

Skills in:

  • communicating knowledge on major areas and issues within international studiess in a clear, structured manner.


The student must attain

Competencies in:

  • using basic disciplinary approaches in International Studies for analyzing and working on concrete problems within the field of international studies.

Written exam
The examination is an individual exam portfolio; the content of the portfolio must demonstrate that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives and has participated actively in course activities. The requirements for the contents of the portfolio will be determined by the course lecturer at the start of the semester.
The portfolio will be evaluated by the examiner.
Any re-examinations will be held in accordance with the above guidelines on the basis of a revised exam portfolio.
