Learning objectives

Knowledge

• Have knowledge about the sports product industry in relation to testing of sports equipment
• Have knowledge of available analytical methods, their advantages and limitations, in relation to testing of sports equipment.
• Have knowledge of requirements of the interface between the athlete and equipment
• Can explain the advantages and disadvantages of the tested product
• Can understand technical specifications of sports technology products

Skills

• Can apply the theory of mechanics of materials and embedded systems on sports equipment
• Can apply an appropriate experimental and numerical method for a given case
• Can test and collect data from a sports product in connection with the human body

Competences

• Can analyse the interactions between an athlete and a sports product
• Can discuss the design, quality and costs of sports products with relevant professionals in science or industry (e.g. engineers, product analysis specialists, equipment producers)
• Can interact with stakeholders about the scientific and sports technological aspects of the specific project
