Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

The overall aim is to provide students with a basic knowledge and understanding of legal methodology in the course's selected areas of law; Data Protection Law, including Cybercrime and Cybersecurity, Intellectual Property Law with a particular focus on copyright protection and IT Contract Law.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  •  Subject concepts and terminology
  • The scientific issues related to the subject
  • The relevant sources of law, including subject theory, statutory provisions and key case law
  • The concepts, terminology and relevant sources of          law in the discussion of the scientific issues of the            subject

Skills

  • Apply the concepts and terminology of the selected areas of   law correctly 
  • Knowledge of relevant case law from supervisory authorities and boards, Courts of Denmark and the European Court of Justice
  • Knowledge of the existence of decisions of other international administrative bodies and courts
  • Knowledge of relevant sources of law (including EU law sources)
  • Apply legal methodology to practical issues related to the areas of law

Competences

  • Identify and solve scientific and practical problems in  the areas of law covered by the subject
  • Use scientific knowledge to develop new solutions to IT legal problems, choose the appropriate solutions in an IT legal context and, in both cases, be able to justify the choices made
  • Be able to disseminate research-based knowledge in the fields of law
  • Discuss professional and scientific issues in the legal fields with peers, non-specialists, IT professionals, partners and users in a correct language and, based on the basis of the knowledge acquired, be able to take responsibility for his/her own professional development and specialisation within the course
