The purpose of this module is for the students to acquire a basic theoretical understanding and empirical knowledge regarding the social conditions for technology development and the broader societal implications of technology implementation and use specifically with respect to communication and media technologies.
Contents:
This module concerns the relationships between technology and
societal developments primarily from a macro perspective. It
provides the students with a historic and contemporary overview of
technology developments in the information and communication
technology area. It, furthermore, provides the students with
theoretical approaches to understanding such technology
developments.
