Learning objectives

Knowledge

The student must attain

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • key theories in organizational studies
  • basic theoretical and methodological issues in analyzing organizations
  • basic characteristics of organizations in terms of structure, power relations, and technologies (including digital).

 

Skills

The student must attain

Skills in:

  • applying relevant concepts and theories in analyzing  organizational phenomena and issues
  • applying social and cultural analytical methods in understanding organizational issues.

Competences

The student must attain

Competencies in:

  • analyzing private and public organizations by using relevant theories and methods
  • contributing to the critical discussion of organizational phenomena and processes on the basis of relevant knowledge
  • discussing the effects of various theoretical approaches in the understanding of organizations.

The examination is an individual exam portfolio; the content of the portfolio must demonstrate that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives and has participated actively in course activities. The requirements for the contents of the portfolio will be determined by the course instructor at the start of the semester.
The assignment paper will be evaluated by the examiner.

Any re-examinations will be held in held in accordance with the above guidelines on the basis of a revised exam portfolio.
