Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

In this module, students will identify and analyse a problem within management of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation. In groups, the students will identify a theoretical or empirical problem and apply a suitable combination of methods and frameworks covered throughout the first two semesters to address it.

After completion of the module, students are, independently and in collaboration with others, able to define an appropriate problem within management of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation, develop and execute a relevant research design and develop suitable solutions for the problem in question.

Throughout the module the students will also be introduced to theoretical and practical approaches to project management.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary knowledge on:

  • defining problems related to management of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation.
  • central theories, concepts, and practical issues within the selected research topic.
  • scientific methods applied in management of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation both in theory and practice.
  • how projects can be managed from idea to implementation.

Skills

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary skills in:

  • designing research projects, identifying the most appropriate research design and methods to fit the research question, and justifying the methodological choices.
  • applying relevant methods to provide answers to the formulated research question(s).
  • planning and completing research projects on a selected problem, from idea generation to implementation.

Competences

 The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary competences in:

  • planning and completing a research project in which a key problem within management of technology, entrepreneurship and innovation is addressed from idea generation to implementation.
  • outlining and suggesting solutions within the chosen research topic on the basis of scientific analysis.
  • translating, presenting and discussing professional and scientific problems and solutions with peers and non-specialists.
