Modulets indhold, forløb og pædagogik

Purpose:

The purpose of this project is to support the student in their understanding of embedded systems, their architecture, construction, interfacing and programming along with an understanding of their advantages and limitations.

As a part of this project the students should develop an embedded system. It should be demonstrated, how this embedded system can interact with the surrounding world through both analog and digital standardized interfaces

Viden

  • describing the individual sub-components of an embedded system, such as:
    • busses
    • CPU
    • RAM
    • interfaces
  • describe the different technologies used in implementing the solution
    • doing tradeoff analysis of the different possible implementation possibilities

Færdigheder

  • describing the basic system blocks and their interactions in an embedded system.
  • describing the proces of developing an embedded system.
  • choosing an appropriate programming paradigm for the computer supporting:
    • real time constraints
    • physical constraints
    • interfacing constraints

Kompetencer

  • reflecting about the obtained solutions capabilities and limitations.
  • using methods for specifying, constructing, testing and documenting an embedded system in a structured way.
  • using methods for specifying, implementing, testing and documenting software for the system in a structured way
