Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

PURPOSE
The purpose of the P0 project unit is to give the student the opportunity to place oneself as a multidisciplinary IT professional, and thus develop the student's understanding of own study options.

GOAL
After the P0 project unit, the student must have achieved:

  1. insight into one's own educational situation and clarity about the progression in the education
  2. knowledge of some basic concepts within the technical-natural sciences, communication sciences and business-oriented subject areas
  3. knowledge of description / analysis as a working method and knowledge of relevant contexts and / or perspectives
  4. knowledge of the work processes in a project work,  knowledge acquisition, and knowledge of reflection of own learning process
  5. knowledge of organizing group work and collaboration with supervisors
  6. to be able to convey the project's work results and work processes, in writing, graphically and orally

CONTENTS
The student is introduced to a technical as well as a business-oriented and a humanistic approach to the P0 topic. By the end of the P0 project unit, each project group must have conducted a study of a current topic concerning the use of information technology within a newer or innovative use context, containing elements with a technical, humanistic, and business perspective.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • knowledge of a specific subject area and specific issues within pervasive computing
  • knowledge of how to obtain relevant data on a specific subject area within pervasive computing, and related specific software products

Skills

  • describe key issues within a selected topic area
  • identify and describe specific IT system (s) related to the chosen topic
  • identify related literature and use it to analyze the topic from a technical, humanistic, and business perspective
  • conclude and formulate challenges and issues for further work on the topic

Competences

  • plan and implement a rounded and academically sound lighting and treatment of a selected subject area within the P0 theme

Type of instruction

Project work

During the P0 project module, the project group must prepare a P0 report and a P0 process analysis, participate in a P0 experience collection and participate in a P0 presentation seminar, where the project group's documents are discussed.

Extent and expected workload

The student is expected to spend 30 hours per ECTS, which for this activity means 150 hours.
