Learning objectives

Knowledge

The student must attain

Knowledge and understanding of:

  • basic theories and methods within the field of international relations, for example liberalism, idealism, realism, Marxism, constructivism, and other central approaches.

Skills

The student must attain

Skills in:

  • analyzing and reflecting on basic theories of international relations.

 

Competences

The student must attain

Competencies in:

  • considering the relevance of basic theories within the field of international relations in relation to issues such as international conflicts, international cooperation, and the role played by state and non-state actors in world politics.

The examination is an individual exam portfolio; the content of the portfolio must demonstrate that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives that the student has achieved the above-mentioned learning objectives and has participated actively in course activities. The requirements for the contents of the portfolio will be determined by the course instructor at the start of the semester.

The assignment paper will be evaluated by the examiner.

Any re-examinations will be held in accordance with the above guidelines on the basis of a revised exam portfolio.
