Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

In this module, students will complete a cooperation with an organisation that is either internationalised or seeking to internationalise. This allows students to gain minimum 12 weeks of valuable work experience while studying. During the cooperation with practice, students will work on completing specific tasks related to international business problems.

The purpose of this module is to allow students to acquire practical experience through working in an organisation and bring their knowledge into play by trying out their theoretical and methodological competences in practice. Based on the cooperation with practice, the student will explicate the knowledge, skills, and competencies acquired during the cooperation. A supervisor will be assigned to each student or group of students.

Learning objectives

Knowledge

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary knowledge on:

  • how organisations apply principles and knowledge from the international business discipline in practice.
  • practical challenges regarding international business.

Skills

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary skills in:

  • applying relevant knowledge and skills in practice to identify and solve specific international business-related tasks.
  • critically thinking and reflecting on practice to connect theory and practice.
  • selecting and applying relevant theories for understanding and analysing specific international business-related problems.

Competences

The objective is that the student after the module possesses the necessary competences in:

  • identifying a problem in an organisation and reflecting on it.
  • converting practical experiences performed during the business cooporation into learning and new knowledge.
  • combining theory and practice to solve international business tasks.
