For students to gain an understanding of political, economic and social development processes, and the interaction between these fields. To provide students the ability to understand and apply relevant theoretical perspectives from the three fields to real-life issues.

• understanding how each field of development is defined as well as the historical development within each field
• understanding selected development strategies within each field and how these strategies relate to concrete examples of country-specific development patterns
• understanding the main issues and dynamics of development as well as selected theoretical perspectives on development
• applying development theories to concrete real-life issues and cases

The module consists of lectures and exercises. Students will be given assignments in relation to lectures.

• possess knowledge of relevant theories, within political, economic and social development as well as various development strategies in this context.
