This course provides the background for understanding the complexity of the ways in which global flows affect or alter the social structures at several levels. Case studies will be presented as the basis for analysing various dimensions within development and migration.

The module includes themes within:

• sustainability and tourism
• globalisation and challenges to local cultures and identities
• development and change

The module consists of lectures and seminars, including exercises and student contributions.
