The objectives are to provide students with theoretical and factual knowledge about EU’s foreign policy (understood in a broad sense) and its impact both on the Member States, neighbouring states, regions, as well as globally -- including international organizations and to provide students with an in-depth insight into the institutions of the EU and the decision-making processes in relation to external policies, including its impact on the member states’ foreign and security policies.
The module will discuss the historical development of the EU’s Foreign Policy. It will introduce relevant concepts and theories as well as the decision-making procedures, actors and institutions. In addition, a number of concrete policy-areas will be highlighted.
The module consists of lectures and seminars, exercises and student contributions.

examination. The examination is a 48-hour take-home assignment
comprising issues within the subject area of module 4. The
