Content, progress and pedagogy of the module

The course focuses on various approaches to entrepreneurship relevant to the field of art and technology. The module entails analysis of the potential markets, with the view to create suitable entrepreneurial strategies for art and technology products. The module also include methods for researching, testing and evaluating ideas, markets and outlets, as well as communicating with different actors about entrepreneurial ideas and projects.

Knowledge

During this module, students should acquire:

Basic knowledge about

  • methods and theoretical approaches to entrepreneurship in the field of art and technology
  • experience economy and the creative industries
  • methods of analysis and interpretation of art and technology products in a given commercial context.

Skills in

  • applying methods of entrepreneurship in a given commercial context
  • analyzing and identifying possible markets and consumer and target groups
  • identifying entrepreneurial aspects in the students own art and technology projects and practice
  • reflecting on the role of the entrepreneur in the field of art and technology.

Competences

Competencies in

  • applying knowledge about entrepreneurship to existing and future projects within the field of art and technology
  • constructing synergy between entrepreneurship and artistic artefacts.

Active participation in the module’s series of lectures and other course related activities is required. Active participation is defined as reading of set literature, 80 % attendance of the module’s series of lectures and other course related activities, contribution to the module’s discussion sessions through presentations and active participation in discussions as well as hand in of all assignments.
