Learning objectives

Knowledge

  • The international frameworks of international business law
  • The methods and purose of unification of private law
  • The principles of international trade.
  • The polycentric domestic judicial setting in which international business is set

Skills

  • Master the terminology and concepts of the field
  • Apply the legal method from the field
  • Identify and analyse international business law problems and risks
  • Interpret and apply the rules of relevant to international business
  • Independently locate relevant legal sources in the field, including case law, traveux preparatoire and scholarly works
  • Explain and react to the deficiencies of the law.
  • Present and explain an analysis of a theoretical or practical problem in a convincing and appropriate manner

Competences

  • Apply the interpretation methods salient to the particular legal area of concern
  • Recognize international business law problems.
  • Recognize risks in cross-border transactions and suggest appropriate reaction
  • Advise on legal matters relating to international business law
  • Advise on the risks involved in dispute resolution
  • Advise on the pros and cons of the default law and choice of domestic law
