Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to the social, environmental and economic responsibility of businesses and organizations. The course is a specialization in issues related to CSR communication.
The module comprises teaching within the following areas:
Ethics and communication (internal and external CSR Communication)
Compliance and Strategic CSR/ UN Guiding Principles on Business and human rights
Responsible Supply Chain Management
Discrimination as a central CSR and communication challenge
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to have knowledge of:
historical, theoretical, ethical and social perspectives that lay the groundwork for the field
basic theoretical and practical knowledge of modern CSR and CSR communication, with emphasis on the principle based approach to CSR
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to have skills in:
developing CSR and CSR communication strategies, as well as analytical and evaluation competence.
understanding CSR in relation to actual corporate practices and international guidelines and expectations.
application of CSR communication theories, concepts, and tools to corporate practices.
examining specific, relevant CSR challenges in depth and investigating diverse forms of and tools for CSR as well as international standards and contemporary CSR discourses.
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to have competences in:
identifying dilemmas and paradoxes of CSR communication.
cognizing possibilities and perils of CSR communication.
research related to CSR and CSR communication. Analytical and applied skills, such as analysis and evaluation of CSR approaches and policies.
proficient in regard to principles of CSR communication.
